Birth: 1726 Saint Pauls Baltimore County Maryland, USA Death: 1786 Pennsylvania, USA "The Unfortunate Death of Charles Wells" "Caleb Wells (his nephew) in an interview with Draper describes the death of Charles Wells. He says that this uncle came to the Ohio Valley and lived in the same region on Buffalo Creek as did his brother Benjamin and family. In 1786 or so, near as I can judge, he and three others went to hunt over the Ohio. Charles Wells was wrapped in his blanket lying beside the fire, when some Indians crept up and attacked. He was entangled in his blaket and unable to escape with the others of the party. The Indians tomahawked and scalped him."
