Birth: Jul. 26, 1897 Monroe County Indiana, USA Death: Mar. 1, 1951 Sanders Monroe County Indiana, USA Bloomington Daily Herald Telephone 03/02/1951 Mrs. Cecil May Howell, 53-year-old Route 4 woman with residence in the Sanders community, was found dead in her home yesterday evening. Dr. Robert E. Lyons, Jr., county coroner, who was called to the scene, returned a verdict of natural causes due to a cerebral hemorrhage. Mrs. Howell was found about 4:30 p.m. after her husband Andrew Howell, returned from work at the Indiana Limestone Company. Dr. Lyons placed time of death at approximately 9 a.m. Mrs. Howell had not been in ill health and death was unexpected. A daughter, living near the Howell home reported she saw her mother at 8:30 a.m. when her mother was hanging up a washing. Mrs. Howell, a native of Monroe County, was born July 26, 1897. She is survived by her husband, Andrew; two daughters, Mrs. Pauline Deckard and Mrs. Dora Mitchner, both of Sanders; two brothers, Chester Ridge, of Bloomington, and Hulcey Ridge, of Long Beach, Calif., and seven grandchildren. Mrs. Howell was a member of the Sanders Pentecostal Church. Funeral services have been planned there for 4 p.m. Saturday with the Rev. Roy Ooley officiating. Burial will be in Clear Creek. The body will be removed from the Day Funeral Home this afternoon to the home of a daughter, Mrs. Dora Mitchner, in Sanders. Friends may call after 7 p.m. Pallbearers will be Gwen Hays, Orville Eads, and James , Elmer, Orville, and Harvey Ridge. Flowerbearers will be Shirley and Beaulah Hawkins, Delores Chambers, Louella McCammon, Reba Ridge, and Peggy Vaughn.
