That part of Wayne Co, in 1843 became Lewis Co, Tn. State of Tennessee Wayne Co, Reuben Tatum Oct, 05, 1840; Enters Eighty Five acre of land on both sides of Trace Creek, Range 7 Section 3 [ Entry No-484] April 26, 1841 Reuben Tatum. Enters 24 acres, on Trace Creek, Range 7 section 3,[Entry No-469] This become Lewis Co, Tn, in 1843, State of Tennessee Lewis Co, Oct,9 1845, Reuben Tatum Enters One Hundred and Forty eight acres of land by virtue of Eighteen 50/100 Dollars in hand paid Situate in the County on the waters of Trace Creek, in Range 7 section 3,[Entry # 111, Book 2. P 81. Lewis Co, Tn.] In 1847 on pg[38]St pg 23 in Lewis Co, TN.It was ordered by County Court that Reuben Tatum may have the privilege to build a Grist Mill on the lands of his own across the Waters of Trace Creek in Lewis County. After his death Thomas Thernas Tatum his son was in charge of the Grist Mill. Found document in Lewis County, TN that states: Joseph Dobbs was administrator of ReubenTatum Estate dated 1852. It was ordered by the Court Of Lewis County TN. That Redding Reeves, James Beatty, & John Turnbow be appointed commissioners to lay off the years [1854-1855] allowance for Frances Tatum, widow of Reuben Tatum, dec'd. September Term 1852. Reuben Tatum served in the 4 Regiment [Greenhill's] Virginia Militia [War of 1812] as a Private. In the document it states that Reuben's place of residence was Charlotte Co, VA. The company that Reuben Tatum served in was Lieut. John Adams' Company of Infantry, 4 Reg't Virginia Militia. Reuben served from 1 September 1814 to 17 December 1814 which was 3 mounths, 17 days. Amount of pay $28.53. Copies received from National Archives located in Washington, DC. More about Reuben he died living on Trace Creek, in Lewis Co, He is Probley Buried in unmark grave in the Old Cemetery, that is on the Reuben Tatum Farm Trace Creek , Lewis Co, Tn, [ All the Information on Reuben Tatum family names dates of birth was copy from the old family Bible,]
