Joyce Tuverson - Jul 3, 2003 Viewers David, This is Levi, so of Jahu (John) Whitehead. This is Jack's picture, and you can see where he has written Levi's birth and death date. He md. M. Isabell Lomax, and died before 1900, leaving one daughter, Ila. This Levi was a cousin to William's son, Levi. I have never found Levi's name as Leroy Levi, but on some deeds it looks like Levi V. Whitehead. I posted a note on Nadine's site about this Levi. There is also a picture of William's son Levi with his wife (Julia) and first 2 children on Nadine's site. It's on the 1st or 2nd page of photos I think! Joyce T. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- David Whitehead - Jul 3, 2003 Viewers So this is the son of Jahu and Mahaly Roden? Don't know where Jack got Leroy Levi but that is what is on the printed copy of his FTM file, may be a typo. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Joyce Tuverson - Jul 7, 2003 Viewers David, I have been out of town for a few days, and I just got back this afternoon, and Jack called this evening. We talked about the Leroy Levi, and I know where he got that. The 1900 Wayne County original census was a mess, and you really couldn't tell too much about Levi's name. In the transcribed census, Jack said that it was listed as Leroy, so he just kept it "Leroy Levi" to help keep the Levi's straight! I remember that the name was really almost unreadable! Yes, this is the son of Jahu and Mahaly Roden, and Jahu later married Catherine Pitts Holt and the family lived in Perry County. JT
