[Bill's Nutt.FTW] Elizabeth was the daughter of a very wealthy Tennessee family. She and Sam may have eloped. She was promptly dis-inherited. They wound up a few years latter in Illinois with 3 children. Sam abandoned the family and Elizabeth was left destitute with small children. She returned to Tennessee, and possibly the daughter married there a man named Richard Malton (Moulton - that would have been Mary). (Source unknown) I do have Don's book from the reunion, and that is what I am primarily basing my search on. There are some inaccuracies in the stories. Betsy died in 1876, not 78, Mary died in 1877. Grandpa jim had said 78, but Aunt Jane had said she was 10 yrs old when grandmother died, and her only daughter died a year later leaving 6 children. This version fits, so at 90 he either made a typo, or was wrong. Email from Brian J. McBride May 16, 2003 to Roberta Sue McBride Damon
