Irene Amato on p. 114 of her "William and Eleanor Nutt of Virginia and Carolina....." refers ro " Benjamin Cate or Cates whose daughter married in to the David Nutt family in Orange County, N.C." [Bill's Nutt.FTW] [Brøderbund WFT Vol. 5, Ed. 1, Tree #2669, Date of Import: Jul 3, 1999] Many of Rachel's family members are buried in Cane Creek Cemetery on Hwy 14 from Hillsboro to Chapel Hill, turn left and keep going straight on road to Orange Grove nine miles from Hillsboro. Letters of administration were issued to Rachel dated 30 May 1816, Orange County, NC. A copy can be found in: "Nutt/McNutt, Descendents of David Nutt of Orange County, NC," by Robert Harris Damon (formerly Damon Harris Nutt) and Christine Virginia (Weatherall) Damon, published by Gateway Press, Baltimore, MD 1994 - Library of Congress Catalogue Card No. 94-75935 After David's death, Rachel moved to Bedford County, Tennessee about 1814 to near 3 Forks of Duck River. Rachel was of Welch descent.
