On his marriagr certificate his occupation is recorded as
"Book-keeper" and his usual place of residence at the time as Hay, NSW.There is no record on his marriage certificate of his parents' names or origin.

Louis Charles' death certificate shows his cause of death as "Dengue fever, double pneumonia, heart failure" in Rockhampton Hospital after an illness of about ten days. The informant was N (probablyMary Ann) Kingsborough, sister-in-law (his
wife's sister) from Comet Queensland.
Louis Charles' employment record in Queensland shows he taught at Bungeworgorai (near Roma) in1892. The record also notes that he was a private tutor in Victoria and NSW from 11 Nov 1876 to 19 Aug 1891.

Ludwig Carl Franzius was born in Prussia in 1842 (probably 1848, see below).
parents Johann Nicolaus Franzius and Louisa Reinicke.
He arrived in Victoria in 1867 on the ship Bolton Abbey.
In 1873 Louis Carl Franzius was in a storekeeper partnership with George Carl Anton Reuter at Dandenong. This business became insolvent that year.
On June 27 1874 Ludwig Carl Franzius married Catherine Heathcote, a
widow and hotel-keeper (Union Hotel, Chapel Street, Prahran).
Catherine had 3 children living from a previous marriage and 2 dead. The Roman Catholic marriage was at St Patrick's Melbourne.
In 1878 Louis was accountant to the firm Little & Treloar at Sale. Louis's description: Height 5'8"; Weight 11s 8lb; Hair brown; Eyes grey; Large scar near corner of lower lip.
In April 1879 Charles Louis Francis pleaded guilty to forging cheques of
his employer over a nine-month period.
On 14 May 1879 Louis Charles Francis was sentenced to 4 years hard
labour on the roads.
Charles Louis Francis, Prisoner Number 17431 spent a year in Sale Gaol,
nearly 2 years at Pentridge and was freed at Williamstown on 22 May 1882
after serving 3 years.
In 1885 Louis was in NSW where he married Emily Morley.
Catherine Francis (Heathcote) died on 12 February 1889, more than three years after the date of Louis Charles' marriage to Emily Morley on 17 September 1885.
In December 2009, Russell Kelly made contact with Hansjorg Franzius in Germany and information has come to light showing Louis Charles' birthplace as Emden in Germahy and his birth year as 1848.
