William "Bill" Terfehr, age 73, of Urbank, Minnesota, died on Saturday, June 8, 2002 at St. Williamメs Living Center, Parkers Prairie. Bill was born June 24, 1928 to Frank and Rose (Bitzan) Terfehr in Urbank. Bill was united in marriage to Elaine Sullivan on May 24, 1948 in Lisbon, South Dakota. Bill farmed the family farm with his parents until 1955 when he and Elaine took over the farm. In 1981 son Jerry took over the farm and Bill continued to help until last year. Bill was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Urbank where he was an usher for 24 years and a member of the Catholic Order of Forrestors. He was also a former Urbank Lions member and was on the Urbank City Council. He enjoyed his farm tractors, especially the "H" Farmall, horses, fishing, music, dancing, yard work and he loved his grandchildren. He was an avid Urbank Bombers baseball fan. Bill is survived by his wife Elaine of Urbank; daughters: Mary Ann Nunes of St. Cloud; Lorraine Hausmann of Madison, Tennessee; LaVonne Braunschweig and husband Charles of Menahga; Bernadine Schmidt of Parkers Prairie; Rosalie Speed and husband Tim of Alexandria; sons: Thomas Terfehr and wife Lisa of Stanford, Connecticut; Jerry Terfehr and wife Theresa of Urbank; 20 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; sisters: Theresia Miller of Kansas City, Missouri; Mageline Politeski of Lake Lenore, Saskatchewan, Canada; Alma Revering of Fergus Falls; and Frances Sauer of Osakis. He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers: Al, Ray and Norbert; sisters: Clara Turchin and Joan Slye; and son-in-law: Raymond Schmidt. Mass of Christian Burial was on Thursday, June 13, 2002, 11 a.m. at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Urbank, with Father Jeff Ethen and Father Eugene Lemm officiating. Ruth and Ed Thoennes sang duets and Fern Becker was the soloist. Honorary Pallbearers were Billメs grandchildren. Active Pallbearers were Bryan Schmidt, Andy Schmidt, Ben Terfehr, Sarah Terfehr, Greg Hausmann, Dustin Speed, Craig Braunschweig and Chad Braunschweig.
