Dorothy M. Brimeyer, 92, formerly of Fort Wayne, Ind., and most recently a resident of Kitty Hawk, passed
away Oct. 7, 2006, at Outer Banks Hospital. She was born in Fort Wayne, March 2, 1914, to the late Frederick
D.G. and Marie Hasselman Meyer. She was predeceased by husbands, Clair W. Bellinger, Roy N. Brimeyer, and a
daughter, Shirley Ann Bellinger and son in-law, Philip J. Terveer. She was one of four children, two of whom,
Oscar and Karl Meyer, had predeceased her. She is survived by a daughter, Marie Elizabeth Terveer of Kitty Hawk
and a sister, Esther Harmeyer of Fort Wayne; five grandchildren, Stephen P. Terveer and wife Paula of
Virginia Beach, Annette M. Baruch and husband Steve of Rockville, Md., Bernard R. Terveer and wife Laura
of Virginia Beach, Philip J. Terveer Jr. and wife Cara of Clemmons, N.C., and Mark T. Terveer and wife Theresa
of Jarvisburg, N.C. Dorothy is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews, as well as 13 great-grandchildren,
Joshua and Jordan Terveer, Jessica, Nathan and Camille Baruch, Keely and Tucker Terveer, Zachary and Caitlin
Terveer, Amanda Terveer and Edgar, Evan and Aaron Lamoureux. She will be remembered by all for her gentle
and loving ways. A visitation will be held at Concordia Lutheran Church in Fort Wayne, where Dorothy was a
longtime member, at 2 p.m. Friday followed by a funeral at 3 p.m. by the Rev. Karl Frincke. Burial will
be at Greenlawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at a reception following the burial at
Centennial Hall in Concordia Church. Dorothy lived a long and eventful life during historic times. She
retired from the General Electric Company after more than 30 years service. She was active in many church
and community organizations through the years, and was a volunteer at the Lutheran Home. She was a wonderful
example of kindness, love and perseverance. Memorial offerings may be made to Grace Lutheran Church By The Sea,
