Wayne Terry Griffith 1937 - 2017 SUN CITY CENTER, FL - Wayne Terry Griffith, 79, of Sun City Center, FL, passed away peacefully at Lifepath Hospice of Ruskin, FL, surrounded by family, on July 25, 2017. He was born on September 18, 1937, in Utica, a son of Caryl H. and Helen (Ashcroft) Griffith. Wayne served his country in the Army in Germany from 1956-1960. On May 17, 1995, he was united in marriage to Aurora Sosteri, a devoted union of 22 years filled with much love and mutual respect. Wayne was a baseball coach to little leaguers and an avid golfer which he got to enjoy much of during his retirement. He volunteered for the Sun City Security Squad for many years. He also enjoyed cooking for family and friends. He retired from Utica Corporation in 1995. Wayne is survived by his wife, Aurora; his sons, Wayne (Debbie) and Randy (Renee) Griffith; his daughters, Dawn (Anthony) Gentile, Wendy (Jeff) Novak, Sherry (Finn) Beaton and Tammy (Jeff) Jarmak; and stepson, William Griffith. He also leaves behind two sisters-in-law, Martha and Carol Griffith. Also surviving are his many loving grandchildren and great-grandchildren along with a niece and nephew. He was predeceased by his brothers, Caryl, Harry and William Griffith. Arrangements were through the National Crematory in Ruskin, FL. A prayer ceremony for family will be held in the chapel at Calvary Cemetery on August 22nd. In lieu of flowers, please make contributions to the Diabetes Association or the Heart Association.
