Mary I. Creaser, 74, of Pounder Hall, Oriskany, formerly of Utica and Whitesboro, passed away October 8, 2014, at St. Elizabeth Medical Center, after an extended illness. Mary was born, December 7, 1939, in Dalton, MA, a daughter of Lisle Studley and Mary Flynn Studley. After the death of Mr. Studley in November 1941, Mrs. Studley married James Kirk. Mary was raised in Massachusetts, and upon graduation from High School, attended Russell Sage College and Albany Medical School of Nursing. In 1960 she married K. Scott Creaser. They made their home in Whitesboro, NY. Mary was employed as a medical secretary at Utica area physicians offices. She was of the Roman Catholic faith. When her children were small, Mary enjoyed taking them camping. She enjoyed playing golf, bowling, and especially Mahjong. Mary loved playing Pitch with her friends at Pounder Hall. She is survived by five children, Mary Kate (Katy) Hagan and husband James, TN, Thomas Creaser and wife Sally, Whitesboro, Michael Creaser and wife Maura Whalen, Slingerlands, Caroline (Carrie) Dimbleby and husband James, Deerfield, and Karla Del Rio, Whitesboro; grandchildren, Seamus and Aisling Hagan, Rosemary and Kenneth Creaser, William McNeece, Katie Cushing and husband Craig, Liam, Justin, Gavin and Brendan Creaser, Christine McLear and partner Darius Romero, John, Hannah and Hope Dimbleby, Jonah and Jada Del Rio. Also surviving is her sister and brother-in-law, Sally and Max Baumgardner, IL; her brother and sister-in-law, Charles and Christine Studley, MA; two nieces; three nephews; and many great-nieces and great-nephews. The family would like to thank everyone at Pounder Hall for their care, kindness, and friendship to Mary. They would also like to express their gratitude to all of her caregivers at St. Elizabeth Medical Center for the care and compassion given to Mary and her family. Funeral services will be Monday, 10:30 a.m. from Dimbleby, Friedel, Williams & Edmunds Funeral Home, Forty Main St., Whitesboro, and 11:30 a.m. at St. Pauls Church, 16 Park Ave., Whitesboro, where her Funeral Mass will be celebrated. Visitation is Monday from 9:30 a.m. until the funeral time. Interment in Fairview Cemetery, Dalton, MA, will be private, and at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, please consider memorial donations, in her name, to Pounder Hall, 1400 Utica Street, Oriskany, NY 13424. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
