GOTTFRED LEISCHNER DIED AT MITCHELL LAST OF WEEK

Gottfried Leischner, residing twelve miles south-east of Parkston, passed away at a Mitchell hospital Saturday, December 111th, 1926, following an operation for ulcers of the stomach.

Deceased was one of the pioneers of that section of Hutchinson County, and was a man who held the highest esteem of his neighbors and friends.

Last August he was taken seriously ill and the physicians at Mitchell diagnosed his trouble as being ulcers of the stomach. he was operated upon at the time and returned, but his condition instead of improving grew rapidly worse, with the result that he was again taken to the hospital and again operated upon.

All the medical science could do was done in his case, but to no avail, and hepassed away shortly after the noon hour Saturday.

Mr. Leischner was forty-nine years and nine months of age at the time of his decease, and is survived by a widow and eight children - two sons:Reinhold and Richard: and six daughters: Mrs. J. R. Reimann of Parkston, and Louisa, Leontina, Ella Else and Irene, who lives at home.

He is also survived by three brothers - Daniel and Gustave, of Parkston, John, of American Falls, Idaho: and six sister: Mrs, Simon Tiede, Mrs. Dan Boettcher and Mrs. Joe Mogck, of Parkston and Mrs. Em. Sievert of N.D. and Mrs. Helena Schimke, of Odessa, Washington.

Mr. Leischner will be sorely missed, not only by his family but by the entire neighborhood as well. He was looked upon by them as a man among men, and one whose word was as good as hisbond.

The funeral services were held at the Friedensfeld church, near the home of the deceased, on Wednesday afternoon at two o'clock, being conducted by Rev. J. Rothenberger of the Parkston Congregational Church, assisted by Rev. H. P. Kayser, The internment was made at the Friedensfeld Cemetery.

The many friends of the family will join in extending their heartfelt sympathy to the bereaved in their hour of trial.
