Details: Molly Sullivan Jan. 17, 1938 - Nov. 3, 2003 Molly A. Sullivan, 65, of South Bend, Ind., died of natural causes on Monday, Nov. 3, in her home. She was born in South Bend on Jan. 17, 1938, the younger daugh- ter of the late Richard and Mabel Constance Priddis Sullivan. She WaS also preceded in death by a sister, Jill Sullivan Keiffer. Her father was the noted novel- ist, English professor and historian at the University of Notre Dame from 1936-1976. Molly shared with her sister Jill a love of reading, learning and art inherited from both of their parents. Molly is survived by her brother- in-law, David Keiffer Jr. of New Orleans, La.; and six nieces and nephews, Molly Keiffer and Donald Schultz, David Ill and Sarah Keiffer, Richard and Lourdes Keiffer, Thomas and Lisa Keiffer, Daniel and Dielesy Keiffer, and Susan and Brian Ary, all of the New Orleans area. She has 13 grand-nephews and grand-nieces, also Of the New Orleans area; and a cousin, Eugene Sullivan of Chicago, Ill. Molly also enjoyed an extended family of many friends, associates and acquaintances. Women and men of all ages and walks of life were drawn to her, and she welcomed each and every one into her home and her life. She attended St. Patrick's grade school and St. Joseph's High School in South Bend, and was graduated from Barat College in Lake Forest, Ill. Molly was a teacher, a lover Of literature, and an artist. She taught in Chicago and in South Bend at Stanley Clark School and at Saint Mary's Academy. She served as an alcohol education counselor at both Saint Mary's College and the University of Notre Dame. She then pursued many vocations and avocations, including masonry, phlebotomy and social work, always serving and advocating for those on the edge or out- side the mainstream. First and foremost, she was an artist and a consummate counsellor, who humbly shared her wisdom with anyone who sought it, though she would be greatly embarrassed to read this. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Nov. 7, in St. Patrick Catholic Church, 309 S. Taylor st., South Bend. Rev. Leonard Chrobot, pastor of the church, will officiate. Friends may call one hour prior to services on Friday in the church. The Palmer Funeral Home-River Park, South Bend, is assisting with arrangements.
