Zitat Familiengeschichte Dammann von Mary Pat Dammann Morris, 1975:
"Julius Dammann spent twelve years as a Lutheran minister in Minnesota. From 1895 - 1899 he served St. John's Lutheran Church in Lake Benton. During this period he also spent time "riding the curcuit". Many a time his way was in livestock and bushels of produce. I still have a small revolver which he carried as protection against highwaymen when he was circuit riding.
He was then called to St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church (where he served from 1900 - 1907) in Jordan. During his tenure at St. Paul's money was raised and plans were made for a new church building. In fact land was purchased for the sum of $300. Pastor Dammann was forced to retire from the ministry due to a throat ailment and building plans were temporarily dropped.
Due to his health problems he returned with his family to Milwaukee where he worked in the credit department of the Julius Andrae Co."
