CATHERINE "KITTY" (CARR) McKEONE
Age 83, of Jefferson Hills, originally from Greenfield and West Mifflin, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, November 30, 2016, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. She was a beloved wife, mother, sister, nana, and friend to many. Her quiet strength, faith, and perseverance throughout her battle, and life in general, was an inspiration to all who knew her. Known as Kitty to her family and close friends, she was born September 28, 1933 in Greenfield and graduated from St. Rosalia Academy. Kitty was the youngest of five children born to the late James and Mary Carr and was a devoted wife to the late Matthew J. McKeone, Jr. and Joseph Connelly. Kitty will forever be remembered and continue to inspire her children, Karen Dunn, James (Debbie) McKeone, Patricia (David) Arnold, Peter (Lisa) McKeone, Christine (Kyra) McKeone and the late Matthew J. McKeone III and Carol Loving. Beloved sister of Amelia Hoerle, Jane Hunt, Agnes Seltmann, and the late Jake and Ruthie Carr. Kitty treasured her grandchildren, Erin, David, Michelle, Matthew, Nicole, Billy, Kenny, Melody, Jimmy, and step-grandchildren Bobby, Jamie, Scott, Michael, and Ryan. She cherished her seven great-grandchildren, and also had four stepchildren. Her family and friends were the center of her world and filled her heart with love and her life with happiness. Kitty lived by her faith, always had a smile and hug for everyone and all who knew her loved her. We will miss our beloved mother and nana as she was one in a million. Visitation will be held on Sunday and Monday from 2-4 p.m. and 6-9 p.m. at the JEFFERSON MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, Pleasant Hills. A Mass of Christian Burial on Tuesday at 12 p.m. at St. Thomas A'Becket Catholic Church. Interment in Calvary Cemetery. Donations in Kitty's memory may be made to the , Pgh. Branch.
