Erie Times-News (PA) - Sunday, March 5, 1995 He was a dentist in the Erie areaBOYNTON BEACH, Fla. _ Dr. Dow DeWitt Calvert, DDS, 82, Boynton Beach, Fla., formerly of Millcreek, died Saturday, Feb. 25, 1995, in Boynton Beach, Fla. following an extended illness.He was born in Pittsburgh on Aug. 12, 1912, a son of the late Dow D. Calvert and Jean Martin Calvert.He was a 1934 graduate of the University of Pittsburgh School of Dentistry. He moved to Erie in 1950 and practiced in the Wesleyville area until 1968.
In 1969, he moved to Millcreek where he had his office until his retirement in 1985. He had been a resident of Florida since 1987.
He was a member of the Pennsylvania Dental Association and St. Jude the Apostle Catholic Church. He was also was a veteran of World War II, serving as a captain in the United States Army Dental Corps.
He is survived by two sons, John A. Calvert of Erie and James C. Calvert of Boynton Beach, Fla.; and five grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Celestine "Sally" Calvert, on Nov. 21, 1986.
A memorial Mass will be held at St. Jude the Apostle Church at a date and time to be announced. Local arrangements are being handled by the John Mark Gannon
