Dr. Douglas William Wurzbach
NORWICH: Dr. Douglas William Wurzbach, 38, of Norwich, passed away Thursday morning at Genesis Hospice, Morrison House, Zanesville, after a two year battle with cancer.
He was born November l9, l973, in Canton, a son of William E. and Norberta Speicher Wurzbach of Zanesville. He was a radiologist with Radiology Associates of Southeast Ohio and Medical Director of Diagnostic Imaging at Southeastern Ohio Regional Medical Center in Cambridge.
He was a graduate of Bowling Green State University and graduated from the University of Cincinnati Medical School in 2001. He completed his Radiology residency at Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston, SC in 2003 and Aultman Hospital in 2006.
In 2006 he became board certified by the American Board of Radiology and joined Radiology Associates of Southeast Ohio. Dr. Wurzbach was awarded the Pride Award for inspiration at Genesis in 2011. He practiced in the Genesis Healthcare System, at Southeastern Ohio Regional Medical Center, and at Coshocton Memorial Hospital.
He attended the East 40 Church of Christ near Norwich. He was den leader for Cub Scout Den five of Pack 510 of New Concord for four years.
In addition to his parents; he is survived by his wife, Tricia McNutt Wurzbach ,whom he married March 11, 2003; daughters, Madeleine Ellsworth, and Olivia Wurzbach; son, Aiden Ellsworth, all of the home; brothers, Bryan (Kasia) Wurzbach, Mannheim, Germany, Russell Wurzbach of Canton, and Gregory Wurzbach who is now serving with the Air Force.
Visitation will be Sunday, August 26 from 2 - 4 and 6-8 P.M. at the East 40 Church of Christ, 7522 East Pike, Norwich. Services will be held at l1:00 A.M. Monday, August 27 at the church with Pastor Kenny Thomas officiating. Burial will be in Norwich United Presbyterian Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Genesis Hospice and Palliative Care, 713 Forest Avenue, Zanesville, Ohio 43701.
Mock-Miller Funeral Home, New Concord is entrusted with the services.
