Seth Owen Thomas Jr., 85, of Dormont, a former police officer for Dormont Borough for 27 years, died Friday, July 13, 2012. He was the beloved husband of Joan Preis Thomas; loving dad of Wade (Yvonne) Thomas, Sherry Treadway and Russell (Amy) Thomas; brother of Lee (Sandy) Thomas, Bill (Lois) Thomas, Shirley (the late Carl) Schultz and Nancy (Jim) Patterson; brother-in-law of Marilyn (Bob) Klein, Janice (the late Jim) Hoffman and the late Carol (the late Jack) Bova; also survived by seven grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Seth was a Navy Veteran of both World War II and the Korean War and a member of Dormont United Methodist Church. Friends will be received from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday at LAUGHLIN MEMORIAL CHAPEL, 222 Washington Road, Mt. Lebanon. Service and interment in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies on Tuesday will be private. The family requests no flowers, please.
