Age 86, entered into eternal rest on July 10, 2014, of Mt. Oliver. Loving husband of Ruth (Zimmer) for 60 years; beloved father of Mary Ann (Lou) DeAngelis, Steven, Carl (Chris); beloved grandpap of Christie, Stefani, Josh, Zak, Christian, and Annika; beloved brother of the late Bernie; beloved brother-in-law of Dorothy Bachner, Harry Pferdehirt, and Rose Kowalski. Will also be dearly missed by many loving nieces and nephews. He was in the U.S. Navy on the USS Spokane Washington and was employed in the printing industry. He was very active in his church and was one of the first lay people to take the Eucharist to the homebound. He was a member of the St. Vincent DePaul Society and a life-time member of the VFW 456, currently the VFW 1810. Friends received Monday 2 - 8 at TIMOTHY K. SLATER Funeral Services, Inc. (412-381-3337) 425 Brownsville Rd., Mt. Oliver, 15210. Mass of Christian Burial at St. John Vianney Catholic Church Tuesday 10 am. The family would like to thank the entire staff in both the memory care unit and the hospice of the Paramount Nursing Home, Knoedler Road, Baldwin, for the loving care they provided.
