He was born June 2, 1932, in the Town of Forest, the son of Herman andAdeline Immel Poch. He served in the U.S. Army from 1956 to 1958 in the Corps of Engineers. On Oct. 23, 1954, he married the former Dorothy Loehr at St. PaulLutheran Church in Forest. After their marriage, the couple resided inthe Town of Greenbush until 1969 when they moved to the Town of Forestwhere they farmed. Sonny was also employed at Lefeber and Eiringcontractors of St. Cloud and most recently by Elm Park Farms of SheboyganFalls. He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Forest, the Lyons ForestHome Cemetery Association, and held township offices for the Town ofForest for many years. Survivors include his wife. Dorothy; one son, Larry (Diane) Poch of Fonddu Lac a daughter, Mary (Joe) Halbur of Campbellsport; fourgrandchildren, Amanda, Angela, Paul and Matthew Poch; three sisters, Ardell (Marv) Priest of Lomira, Karen (Norman) Raeder of Plymouth, andRuth (Merlin) Limberg of Glenbeulah; two brothers, Norbert (Helen) ofFond du Lac, and Dale (Pat) of West Bend; and a brother- in - law, ButchRosenbaum of St. Cloud. He was preceded in death by a sister, AliceRosenbaum. Services: Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at St. PaulLutheran Church in the Town of Forest. The Rev. Mark Barenz willofficiate, and burial will be at Lyons Forest Home Cemetery. Visitation: Friends may call at the church from 11 a.m. Tuesday until thetime of the services. A memorial fund has been established in his name for St. Paul Church orHospice Home of Hope. Huss Funeral Home, St. Cloud, is serving the family.
