In 1634 Edmund lived in London, England. He emigrated 21 Sep 1635 on the True Love. He bore two letters addressed to John Winthrop Jr, son of Gov. Winthrop, in both of which he was highly recommended. His name, and the names of his family, do not appear on any emigrants' lists, but there were apparently a number of unlisted passengers on this ship. Edmund received a grant of land in Boston under the Act of Nov 1635 which required that a house be built thereon before 1 Mar of the next year. Apparently he went into the service of Governor Winthrop immediately, because this grant was cancelled 21 Mar 1635/1636. He died at Ten Hills Farm (Torrey says he lived at Boston), leaving a widow and two daughters, one born 3 months posthumously. Governor Winthrop refers to the death of "Goodman Bushnell" in a letter to his son John, who was then on an expedition to the mouth of the Connecticut River. He was buried at Boston, with honors.
