The Sisters of Charity of Leavenworth mourn the loss of Sister Concepta Mock, 83, who died at 2:50 a.m. on Wednesday, May 17, 2006 at Ross Hall, Mother House, Leavenworth, KS. One of four children of William V. and Gertrude Hund Mock, Lucy Mary Mock was born on March 26, 1923 in Paxico, Kansas. She entered the religious community of the Sisters of Charity of Leavenworth on March 24, 1944 and, as Sister Concepta made her profession of vows on Sept. 25, 1945. After profession, Sister served in a variety of positions from RN to Administrator at clinics and hospitals sponsored by the Sisters of Charity throughout the midwestern and western states. From 1978-1987 she was the Administrator of Ross Hall at the Mother House. Sister Concepta was one of the original founders of Marian Clinic in Topeka, Kansas, and worked there from 1988-2003. Sister Concepta retired to Ross Hall September 30, 2004. Survivors include a brother-in-law, Cletus Scheier, St. Mary's, KS, friends, cousins, and her SCL community members. In the community, Sister was preceded in death by her sister, Sister Concetta Mock and cousins Sister Mary George Wanstrath, Sister Mary Gertrude Glotzbach, and Sister Jean Carmel Guth. A vigil will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, May 19, 2006, in Ross Chapel of the Sisters of Charity Mother House in Leavenworth. Mass of Resurrection will be celebrated in Ross Chapel at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, May 20. Interment will follow in Mount Olivet Cemetery on the Mother House grounds. Davis Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to the Sisters of Charity of Leavenworth Retirement Fund, 4200 S. 4th ST, Leavenworth, KS 66048-5054
