Margaret Jane Karpinsky, age 93, passed away on Sunday, Oct. 12, 2014, at her home.
She was born on April 11, 1921, in Fennimore, the daughter of Orville and Rose (Conley) Lampe. Marge was united in marriage to Leo Karpinsky on Sept. 21, 1946, at St. Bernard's Catholic Parish in Middleton. She worked for the U.S. Postal service for a time. Marge was the first executive secretary for John Suby, helping to preside over the growth of Suby Von Haden and Associates. She retired after 18 years of service.
Marge is survived by her children, Jim (Sue) of Poynette, Bob (Pat) of LaCrescent, Minn., Sandy (David) Everson of Madison, Diane (Ray) Grassl of South Milwaukee and Brian (Jeanne) of DeForest; 18 grandchildren, Lynn, Janet and Patti Karpinsky, Becky, Matt and Rachel Karpinsky, Cathy Miller, Courtney Irvin, Sarah, Anna and Vanessa Everson, Andrea Treu, Kerri Neitzel, Katie, Elisabeth and Emily Grassl and Jennifer Korth and Amber Karpinsky; and 20 great-grandchildren.
Marge was preceded in death by her husband; parents; an infant daughter, Lisa; and siblings, Modesta Voss, Rosemary Allen, Orville and George Lampe.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at ST. MARIA GORETTI CATHOLIC CHURCH, 5313 Flad Ave., Madison, at 11 a.m., on Thursday, Oct. 16, 2014, with Monsignor Michael Burke presiding. Burial will be in St. Bernard's Catholic Cemetery, Middleton. Visitation will be held on Thursday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at the church.
