Edward Henry Ziegenfuss was born in Canute, Oklahoma on December 29, 1925. Evelyn Minnie Angerer was born in Lubbock, Texas on January 23, 1932. They were married January 30, 1951 in the St. Elizabeth's Catholic Church in Lubbock.
They opened Ed's Southside Gulf on January 27. They still operate the Gulf station today with Evelyn also working as a cook at the Dairy Queen. They are also members of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Muleshoe.
Ed and Evelyn have six children. Not any of their children were born in Muleshoe, but seven of their eight grandchildren were born in the West Plains Medical Center.
Patricia Ann "Patsy" the oldest of the six children was born in December 17, 1951 in Slaton, Texas. She married Roy Pierce of Plains on August 27, 1970 in Brownfield, Texas and they have two children. Channia was born in Odessa on August 22, 1971 and Chawn was born in Muleshoe on January 18, 1975. They all live in Amherst where Patsy is employed by the South Plains Hospital and Roy is employed by VTS in Littlefield.
Mary Evelyn was born on March 25, 1953 in Elk City, Oklahoma. She married Wayne Wauson of Plains on November 26, 1971 in Muleshoe and they have two sons. Steven Wayne was born on January 10, 1975 and Larry Don was born on December 9, 1977. They all live in Muleshoe where Mary is employed with Dent & Co. and Wayne is employed with Earl Ladd & Son.
John Edward "Johnny" was born on April 17, 1955 in Slaton, Texas. He married Melinda Butler of Muleshoe on August 3, 1973 in Muleshoe and they have two sons. Jason John was born on June 13, 1974. Joshua Lawrence was born on September 11, 1979. They all live in Levelland where Johnny owns and operates the Borden milk route and Melinda is a published writer and housewife.
Betty Joe was born on November 20, 1959 in Slaton, Texas. She married Rickie Claybrook of Muleshoe on September 17, 1976 in Muleshoe and they have two children. David Michael was born on September 7, 1977. Amanda Beth was born on December 31, 1979. They all live in Greenville where Rickie is employed by the Greenville Electric Co. and Betty Jo is a registered nurse.
Jennifer Louise "Jenny" was born on February 12, 1964 in Salton, Texas. She married Gary McDaniel of Amherst on June 10, 1983 in Amherst. They live in Muleshoe where Jenny works as a deputy in the County Clerk's Office and Gary is employed by Bailey County Electric Coop.
