Birth: Jul. 2, 1947 Michigan, USA Death: Jul. 9, 2007 Michigan, USA William F. Gliesman III, 60, a resident of Macomb Township for the past 28 years, died Monday, July 9, 2007, in his home. He was born July 2, 1947, in Detroit. Mr. Gliesman retired after 39 years of employment from Cross Huller and began work at the age of 19 for Cross Company in Fraser. He married Cynthia on May 6, 1972 in Peace Lutheran Church in Detroit. He enjoyed boating and fishing on the Great Lakes and was a member of the New Wave Boat Club. He was involved with his children's swim team and served as a head official for the YMCA Macomb Marlins swim team for 15 years. He also enjoyed playing cards especially bridge and earned his life master. Animals were an important part of his life and he especially loved golden retrievers. His family said he was an active volunteer and served the Lord on various committees at Trinity Lutheran Church in Utica, where he had been a member since 1979. Mr. Gliesman is survived by his wife, Cynthia; daughters, Jennifer Gliesman of Cincinnati, Ohio and Allison (Byronn) Memmelaar of Coledonia, Mich.; mother, Erika Blauet; siblings, Paul (Cindi) Gliesman of Northville, Ronald (Kathy) Blauet of Redford, David (Linda) Blauet of Metamora, Doris Blauet of Macomb Township and Esther (Alan) Borowiak of Detroit; brother-in-law, Douglas (Gayle) Merkle of Grosse Pointe Shores; seven nephews; one niece; and four great-nieces and -nephews. He was predeceased by his father, William F. Gliesman Jr. and stepfather, Rudolph Blauet. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Trinity Lutheran Church, 45160 Van Dyke, Utica, with the Rev. Norman Koy officiating. Burial will be in Christian Memorial Cultural Center, Rochester Hills. Visitation is 6-9 p.m. today and 4-9 p.m. Thursday at Wm. Sullivan & Son Funeral Home, 8459 Hall Road (three blocks east of Van Dyke), Utica. Additional visitation is 10:30-11 a.m. Friday at the church.
