Alonzo Sherburn, of Co. B, recruited man enrolled Sep. 3, 1862 in Pierceton by Capt. Heath as a Private; mustered in Oct. 3, 1862 in Indianapolis by Capt. Webb at age 23. He was 5Œ 7.50 tall, light complexion, blue eyes, and red hair. Born Oct. 1839 in Ontario Co., NY, employed as a farmer, married to Hannah Gay, resident of Pierceton, in Kosciusko Co., IN. Discharged May 16, 1863, for spinal irritation and chronic diarrhea in Murfreesboro, TN with rank of Private. Notes: Brother to Lafayette Sherburn and George Shurburn. Fought at Stone River. He filed Invalid Pension Application to receive Pension Certificate #214667 Jun. 15, 1863 and received $8 monthly for chronic diarrhea starting Jun. 1882. Resident of Pierceton 1880-1894, of Warsaw 1900; in IN State Soldiersf Home in Lafayette Apr. 7, 1911. Died Nov. 20, 1914, in Warsaw, Kosciusko Co., IN; buried Oakwood Cemetery, Sec. 4/Site 1.
