Carolyn Bingham Rosemore provided links to parents, middle name for initial "D.", and below bio. 11-28-2015 Gayle DeWayne Levtzow, 87, of Redfield, SD, died Tuesday, May 26, 2015 at Golden Living Center in Redfield. Gayle was born October 26, 1927 in Rockham to Henry G. and Ida M. (Kono) Levtzow. He grew up on the family farm and attended country grade school. He attended Rockham High School for two years and graduated from Redfield High School in 1945. He was on the football and basketball teams during high school. He was drafted into the United States Army and served overseas in Germany. Gayle married Arvilla "Jean" Engle, daughter of Lloyd and Gladys (Rudd) Engle, on November 8, 1954 in Orient. They lived on the farm near Rockham where they grew wheat and corn and raised cattle and sheep. Gayle was an avid sports fan and followed his son Dan’s and his grandchildren’s sporting events all over the state. He bowled with the Rockham guys for many years. He was a member of the Rockham American Legion and Redfield VFW. Gayle is survived by his wife Jean of Redfield; his daughter Linda Levtzow of Redfield and his son Daniel “Hype” (Cris) Levtzow of Redfield; five grandchildren: Jennifer (Brett) Barnes of Mitchell, SD and their children: Caden and Logan; Kayla Levtzow of Kimball, MN; Brittany Levtzow of Ellendale, ND; Danielle Levtzow of Storden, MN and Angel Levtzow of Redfield. He was preceded in death by his three brothers: Claude, Merle and Lyle and his sister Audrey Adams. Funeral: May 30, 2015-United Methodist Church in Redfield. Officiating: Reverend Marty Toepke-Floyd. Burial: Rockham Cemetery. Arrangements: Thelen Funeral Home-Redfield, SD.
