Bellville Times Hillboldt Mildred Reibenstein Hillboldt, 82, passed away Saturday, April 18, 2009 in Columbus, Texas. Funeral Services were held on Tuesday, April 21, 2009 at 3 p.m. from St. John Lutheran Church, Cat Spring, with the Rev. Kevin Haug officiating. Burial was in the Millheim Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers were Harold Reibenstein, Malcolm Dittert, Myron Dittert, T.J. Menke, Jack Brandes, Leonard Brod, Travis Nelson and Randall Tipp. Honorary pallbearers were Wm. Hegemeyer, Allan Hillboldt, Jr., Wayne Campbell, John Payne and Benjamin Smith. Mildred was born on May 25, 1926 to Edmund and Lodima Wittenburg Reibenstein. They lived in the Cleveland Community now known as Cat Spring. She attended Cleveland and Cat Spring schools and Sealy High School, of which she graduated in 1945. She was baptized and confirmed on Dec. 13, 1948 in St. John Lutheran Church of Bellville, by A. J. Mohr. On December 15, 1946 she married Leroy Hillboldt in Sealy. They made their home in Millheim, until 2004 when she moved to Cat Spring to be closer to family and friends. Mildred was a faithful member of the St. John Lutheran Church and an active member of the ladies group. She served on the food committee which helped with funerals. She was a member of the Millheim Home Demonstration Club of which she was very proud to have received her pin for 60 years of service. Mildred was very involved in numerous organizations which were the Millheim Harmonie Verein, Cat Spring Agricultural Society, Sons of Hermann Nagel Lodge # 299 and the Ladies Auxiliary of the Cat Spring Volunteer Fire Department. She funded the construction of the Millheim Cemetery Pavilion of which she was a director for many years. Gardening and canning the fruits of her harvest were a lifetime passion. She was preceded in death by her parents Edmund and Lodima Reibenstein, husband Leroy Hillboldt, brother Leslie Reibenstein, brothers-in-law Hilton Luedecke and Norris Campbell, sisters-in-law Irene Hillboldt Himly and Maxine Hinze Hillboldt, mother and father-in-law Walter and Dora Hillboldt and stepmother-in-law Lydia Hillboldt. She is survived by sisters Esther Luedecke and Delores Dittert and husband Clarence, sisters-in-law Bernice Reibenstein and Bernice Campbell, brothers-in-law Alan (Cap) Hillboldt and Clarence Himly. Nieces and nephews are Brenda Menke and husband TJ, Sharon Brandes and husband Jack, Harold Reibenstein and wife Connie, Melinda Brod and husband Leonard, Marilyn Nelson and husband Travis, Marsha Tipp and husband Randall, Malcolm Dittert and wife Lisa, Myron Dittert and wife Carrie, Bonnie Hegemeyer and husband William, Wayne Campbell and wife Patty, Myra Payne and husband John, Alan Hillboldt Jr., Anna Smith and husband Benjamin and many great nieces and nephews. Memorials maybe given to St. John Lutheran Church, 480 Ross St., Cat Spring, TX 78933, Millheim Cemetery Association, 4787 FM 949, Sealy, TX 77474 or the charity of your choice. Funeral Services were under the direction of Knesek Bros. Funeral Chapel in Bellville.
