Born Jan. 15, 1905, in Dunlo: son of Peter E. and Norma (Hertsinger) Malzi. Preceded in death by parents; wife, Ethel R. (Oaks) Malzi, who died April 10, 2001; brothers, Carl and Kenneth; infant sister, Eleanor; son-in-law. Dean Felix; and great-great-grandson, Jason David Wrngard. Survived by daughters, Jacqueline A. Felix, Salix, and Charlotte, wife of Jack Wingard, Salix; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. James was a butcher and farmer who owned meat markets in Dunlo and St. Michael until about 1940 when he moved his shops to the Malzi Farm in Dunlo. Jim spent his entire life in the Dunlo area where he was well-known for his meat and produce. Friends will be received from 2 to S p.m. Thursday at Charles O. Dimond Funeral Home Inc., South Fork, where funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, the Rev. Jon Gulnac. Interment, Forest Lawn Cemetery.
