Brookman, Eleanore
ARCADIA -- Eleanore A. Brookman, 83, of Scott Street, Arcadia, died at 10:45 a.m. Friday, Sept. 12, 2003 at Blanchard Valley Regional Health Center, Findlay.
She was born June 14, 1920 in Cygnet, Ohio to the late Clarence E. and Erma (Hawk) Brookman. Eleanore married Herbert Philo, and they were divorced. On June 15, 1941, she married Elzy Brookman in North Baltimore, Ohio, and he preceded her in death November 11, 1980.
Surviving are a son, Scott E. (Karen) Philo, Lorain; three grandchildren, Stacey, Shannon, and Shawn; three great grandchildren; and two brothers, Charles Ewing, Fenton, Mich.; and Richard Ewing, Toledo.
A brother, Russell Ewing, also preceded her in death.
Mrs. Brookman was a floor inspector at Ford Motor Co. (now Honeywell), Fostoria, for 34 years, retiring in 1974. She had previously been a recording secretary for the AFL-CIO. A graduate of DeVilbiss High School, Toledo, she attended Findlay College for two years. She was a member of the Fostoria Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses. Mrs. Brookman was a kind and giving lady. She enjoyed fishing, gardening, and traveling to many places in the United States and abroad.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the Mann-Hare Funeral Home, Fostoria. Interment Arcadia Cemetery, Arcadia.
Visitation will be held from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
