ROCKDALE
Services for Eleanor Brockman, 91, of Rockdale are set for 2 p.m. Saturday at St. John’s United Methodist Church in Rockdale.
The Rev. Paul Kethley of St. John’s United Methodist Church will officiate. Burial will be in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery.
Arrangements are under the direction of Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Rockdale.
Mrs. Brockman died Wednesday at Trinity Care Center in Brenham.
She was born in Van Zandt County and lived in Rockdale since 1957. She lived the last five years in Grand Saline and Brenham and formerly lived in Mart and Austin.
She was a member of the St. John’s United Methodist Church and United Methodist Women. She also belonged to the New Salem Home Demonstration Club and was named “Homemaker of the Year.”
She served as a pink lady at Richards Memorial Hospital and was a member of the Senior Citizens Center and the Texas Extension Homemakers Association and the Sewing Circle. She worked as a telephone operator for Southwestern Bell, at Scarbrough’s in Austin and at an insurance company.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Oscar M. Brockman; and two children.
Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, John and Martha Brockman of Beeville and Carl and Mary Brockman of Austin; a daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Eddie Farias of Houston and New Ulm; a sister, Florence Thompson of Grand Saline; five grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.
