Edward Ludwig Brockmann, son of the late C. H. and Wilhemene (nee Steffan) Brockmann, who emigrated from Germany, was born, October 17, 1882 at Clover Bottom, MO.
He passed away Thursday, August 25, at 11:40 p.m. at the age of 73 years, 9 months and 13 days. Mr. Brockmann had been ill for about one year during which time he was lovingly taken care of by his wife, together with his son's family.
He was baptized in infancy into the Christian faith on November 15, 1882, and confirmed on March 29, 1896 by the pastor of the St. John's Evangelical church of Casco, MO. He was a member of the church all his life, also serving on the council.
He was united in marrige to Martha Wihlemene (nee Rettke) December 30, 1913, and lived with her for almost 43 years on the home place near Clover Bottom.
He is survived by his dear wife, Martha; two sons, Arthur J. H. Brockmann of New Haven, Clarence H. F. Brockmann on the home place, New Haven route one; brother, William Brockmann of Washington; one sister, Anna Bottamiller of Washington; two daughters-in-law, Mrs. Emelie Brockmann and Dorris Brockmann; two grandsons, Allan and David Brockmann, uncle and aunt, Mr. and Mrs. August Steffan of Rosebud, Mo. and many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were conducted Sunday, Sept. 2, at the Casco Evangelical church by the Rev. John W. Hille with interment in the church cemetery.
