"Mrs. Brockman Falls Asleep
Mrs. Mary Stevinson Brockman, aged 80 years, died early last Friday
morning, at the home of Price, and Misses Cinnie and Mary Haggard,
nephew and nieces, on Paris Road, Columbia. A short service was
conducted by Rev. M.A. Hart, at the home, Sunday morning, and the body
was taken to Red Top Christian church, near Hallsville, this county, for
funeral service and burial at 11 o'clock. The remains were laid to rest
beside those of her husband, Jacob Brockman, who died three years ago.
Deceased was a native of Clark county, Ky., but spent several years at
El Dorado Springs, coming to Columbia a year or two ago, to make her
home with relatives. She is survived by two brothers, Maj. S.M.
Stevinson, of Hallsville, and Jas. H. Stevinson, of Stockton, Calif.
Several months ago Mrs. Brockman fell and broke her hip; this and the
infirmities of age caused her death. She was a woman of high Christian
character, beloved by all who knew her."
2. She was living with Cinnie Haggard as per the 1910 census.
