1. The 1900 census indicated 2 children for this family but only 1 alive.
Enumerated with William Lewis Brockman and his family.
2. According to a "power of attorney" found in the Western Manuscript
Collection at the U. MO, Ezekiel was living in Napello county, Iowa
on 2 Aug 1866: "Know all men by these presents that I E.M. Brockman of
the county of Nepello and State of Iowa, reposing special trust &
confidence in John T. Brockman of the county of Chariton in the
State of Missouri, do by these presents make, constitute and app-
oint him the said John T. Brockman for me in my name to demand and
receive of payments, etc. any & all moneys which may be due to
me for services in company "I" 35th Regiment Missouri enrolled
Militia. Also I do hereby authorize my said attorney for me and in
my name to execute any and all receipts and other papers which may be
necessary to be executed in the payment of such due, and my said
attorney is hereby further authorized to do and perform any and all
other acts and things which may be necessary to the end that I may
receive thro him any such money and that the officer paying the same
may receive full and complete receipts and vouchers for the payments so
made. And I do hereby engage to notify and confirm all that my said
attorney may lawful do in my name in this premmis.
Witness my hand and seal hereto affixed. Due at Ottmuwa,
Iowa, the 2nd day of August 1966.

He was a private.
---He was captured at Stoddard, Missouri in Chariton county 18 Aug 1862
and was sent to the Gratiot Street Military Prison in St. Louis on
31 Aug 1862. He was listed as a guerrilla on the record.
