"I, John F. Brockmann, of the City of St. Louis, State of Missouri, of sound and disposing mind, hereby make, publish and declare this to be my last will and testament, and revoke all wills by me heretofore made.
Subject to the payment of my just debts and funeral expenses, I devise and bequeath my entire estate as follows, to-wit:
1. I devise and bequeath my entire estate, real, personal and mixed, of whatever kind and nature and wheresoever situate, to my beloved wife Katherine Louise Brockmann (nee Gottenstroter), to have and to hold the same fore and during her natural life, and after her death it shall be divided as follows, to-wit:
a) My son Franz Christian shall take house and lot known as No 2917 North 13th street, this City, and my large Bibel.
b) My son John Henry shall take house and lot known as No. 2919 North 13th street, this city.
c) my son Charles George shall take house and lot known as No. 2921 North 13th street, this city.
d) my eldest daughter Bertha shall take house and lot known as NO. 2923 North 13th street, this city.
e) My daughter Martha shall take house and lot Southeast corner of 13th and Hebert streets, this city.
f) My son Frederick William shall receive the sum of twenty-four hundred dollars, and all my books.
g) The Trustees of the Evangelical Lutheran Orphan's Home "Zum kindlein Jesu", in Des Peres, St. Louis County, Missouri, shall receive the sum of two hundred dollars.
h) The Lutheran Hospital, at Ohio avenue and Potomac street, in the city of St. Louis, Missouri, shall receive One Hundred Dollars.
i) The Western District of the Evangelical Lutheran Synod of Missouri, Ohio and other States, for Missionary purposes in said District, shall receive the sum of two hundred dollars.
j) The Western District of the Evangelical Lutheran Synod of Missouri, Ohio and other States, for the Church Building Fund of said District, shall receive the sum of two hundred dollars.
k) The Western District of the Evangelical Lutheran Synod of Missouri, Ohio and other States, for the benefit of poor students in said District, shall receive the sum of two hundred dollars.
l) _____________Evangelical Lutheran Deaf Mute Institute at North _________ sum of one hundred dollars.
2. The monetary bequests, from "f" to "l", both inclusive, hereinbefore set forth, may be paid by my wife, and to provide available funds for this purpose, I empower my wife to sell house and lot known as Nos. 2310 and 2312 Salisbury street, in the City of St. Louis, Missouri and the surplus, if any, shall be equally divided amoung all of my said children, or their descendants per stirpes, and shall be in addition to the devises and bequests hereinbefore set forth.
3. I hereby prohibit a contest of this will, and should any of my said children, or any person or persons in their behalf, violate this prohibition, the share of such contester or contesters shall revert to my estate, and he or they shall take nothing under and by virtue of this will.
4. I hereby appoint my dear beloveth wife Katherine Louise Brockmann and my son-in-law Henry Krueger Joint-executors of this my last will and testament, and I request that my said wife shall not be required to give bond as such, but that said Henry Krueger by required to give the statutory bond.
