Orpha Brockman
TAYLOR -- Orpha Brockman, 83, of Taylor died Wednesday, Aug. 19, 1998, at the Sargent Nursing Center.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Calvary United Methodist Church in Taylor. The Rev. Donald Dennison will officiate. Burial will be in the Kent Cemetery, east of Taylor.
Visitation will be from 1 to 8 p.m. Friday at Rhoad Funeral Home in Sargent.
Memorials are suggested to the Loup County Rescue Unit.
Mrs. Brockman was born on April 17, 1915, at Gross to Frank and Alphea (Post) Wiley. She attended Bala and Valley View country schools. She graduated from Burwell High School.
She married Vernon Brockman on Feb. 14, 1934, in Ord. They lived in the Loup County area and moved into Taylor in 1973. She worked for the post office for 35 years, beginning in 1950. Mr. Brockman died in 1993.
Mrs. Brockman was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary, Loup County Historical Society and Kent Corner Club.
Survivors include three sons, Douglas of Grand Island, Errol of Isabella, Calif., and John of Kearney; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and one brother, Robert Wiley of Moses Lake, Wash.
Other than her husband, she was preceded in death by one brother.
