JACOB HUBER/HOOVER
1759 - I, Jacob Hoover, of the Township of Martic, County of Lancaster and
Province of Pennsylvania, being low and weak in body, but of sound and disposin
mind, memory and understanding, do make and declare this my Last Will and
Testament:
Imprimus - I will order and direct that all my just debts and funeral expences
be paid off and discharged as soon as conveniently may be, after my decease.
Item: I give and bequeath to my two sons Jacob and Matthias, the plantation
whereon I now live, containing 250 acres, to hold to them, their heirs and
assigns forever, they paying to an amongst my other children, the sum of 368
pounds 4 shillings, in yearly payments of 30 pounds in each payment, the first
payment to begin and commence upon the day that my son Matthias shall attain to
the full age of 21 years, and so on, in yearly payments till the whole of said
sum of 368 pounds and 4 shillings be fully paid to wit, to each of my children:
Anna, the wife of Yost Kendrick, Barbara, the wife of Philp Stetzler, Maria, th
wife of Jacob Eberly, John Hoover, Martin Hoover, Margaret, the wife of John
Winter, Christian Hoover, Magadlena Hoover, and Catharine Hoover, the sum of 40
pounds, 18 shillings.
Item: I give and devise to my son Christian Hoover, my plantation situate in
Conestogoe Township containing 150 acres more or less to hold to him, his heirs
and assigns, he paying to and between my other children above mentioned, in
equal payments, the sum of 227 pounds and 5 shillings, that is to say to each o
my children: Jacob, Matthias, Anna, Barbara, Maria, John, Martin, Margaret,
Magdalena and Catherina, the sum of 20 pounds and 15 shillings, the first of th
said payments to be made on the day he shall attain to his age of 21 years or
when he shall arrive to the possession of the said plantation, and to continue
yearly till the whole of the said sum of 227 pounds and 5 shillings is all paid
And my will further is that if either of my said two sons, Jacob and Matthias,
should died before they arrive to the age of 21 years, I give and devise the
part or share of the one so dying to the survivor of them, subject to the
payment of the said sum of 368 pounds and 4 shillings in manner above mentioned
for payment thereof.
And my will further is, and I do give and bequeath, to my loving wife Anna, one
good riding mare, bridle and saddle, the said mare to be kept and maintained on
my first mentioned plantation and I do order and diredt that so long as she
shall continue my widow, my said sons, Jacob and Matthias, or the survivor of
them, shall at their joint and equal expence, find and provide yearly towards
her support and maintainance, twelve bushels of wheat, five bushels of rye, one
fat hog of 100 weight, and 6 pounds of wool and shall allow her the use and
benefit of two rows of apple trees in such a part of the orchard as shall think
proper and shall plow and sow for her yearly half an acre of flax seed, shall
allow her yearly, every spring, to the use and choice of a milk cow to be kept
on the plantation.
And my will further is that my said wife shall live on and have the use of my
plantation whereon I now live for the support of herself and my younger or
unmarried children till my son Jacob shall attain to the age of 21 years.
Provided, nevertheless, that if my hereinafter mentioned executors shall judge
that she cannot conveniently manage the said place herself, that they then shal
and may lease the same till my son Jacob comes of age. To such person or
persons and for considerations as they shall think fit.
Item: I give and bequeath to my said wife the full one-third part of my
personal estate after payments of debts, and the other 2/3 parts thereof I give
and bequeath equally to, and between all my children, share and share alike, an
my will further is that my said sons Jacob and Matthias, or the survivor of
them, shall when they, or either of them arrive at age, build a convenient hous
for her to live in on such part of my plantation as shall choose provided she s
long continues my widow.
And lastly I nominate my friend, Henry Hoover, and my two sons John Hoover and
Martin Hoover, executors of this my last will and testament, hereby revoking an
making null and void all former and other will or wills by me, atany time
heretofore made, declaring this and no other to be my last will and testament.
In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this 29th day of July,

BIRTH: Jacob Huber was the only known son born to Hans and Margaret (Koch) Huber. He was born about 1698. He was born in the Palatinate Section of Germany.
BIOGRAPHY: Jacob lived all of his adult life in Earl Township, Lancaster, Pennsylvania where he raised two families. the name of his first wife is not known at this time. however, his second wifes name was anna. Jacob had six children by his first wife,they were:

BIOGRAPHY: #2-Barbara, Married Philip Stetzler and resided in Earl Twsp. She diedbefore 1754 (according to her father's will).

BIOGRAPHY: #4-Margaret, She married John Winter.
BIOGRAPHY: #5-John, born about 1723, died in Apr. of 1791.
BIOGRAPHY: #6-Martin, born 1725; died April 21st, 1785.

BIOGRAPHY: Jacob had five children by his second wife Anna. He was the Progenitor/Forefather of all the hoovers in the United States.
Jacob and Anna's children were:
BIOGRAPHY: #1-Christian, born in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, where he died, single, prior to 1823. He is buried in the Huber Cemetery, in Martic Township.
BIOGRAPHY: #2-Magdalene, born in Earl Township. She married Abraham G. Fellers. They travled westward from Pennsylvania with her brother Matthias and family. They first lived in Green County, Tennessee, prior to Settling in Rutherford County, Tennessee.
BIOGRAPHY: #3-Catherine, Married Abraham Ladshaw.
BIOGRAPHY: #4-Matthias, (our Ancestor) married Maria, whose last name is not known at this time. He had a family of four Sons and four daughters (see his record following Jacob Sr. in this file).
BIOGRAPHY: #5-Jacob, married Barbara, whose maiden name is not known. Jacob lived his entire life in Lancastere County, where died in 1810; his wife Barbara, passed away in 1826. Both areburied in the Huber Cemetery in Martic Township.Thier children were:

1759 - I, Jacob Hoover, der Township von Martic, County of Lancaster und
Province of Pennsylvania, niedrig und schwach im Körper, aber der Ton-und disposin
Geist, Gedächtnis und Verstand, nicht zu machen und erklären, dies ist mein letzter Wille und
Testament:
Imprimus - ich werde Versandhandel und Direktvertrieb, dass alle meine nur Schulden und Beerdigung expences
abbezahlt sein, und entladen, sobald bequem sein mag, nach meinem Tode.
Item: Ich gebe und vermache meine beiden Söhne Jakob und Matthias, die Plantage
, worauf ich jetzt lebe, mit 250 Hektar, um sie zu halten, deren Erben und
weist immer, sie zahlen einen unter meinen anderen Kindern, die Summe von 368
Pfund 4 Schilling, in jährliche Zahlungen von 30 Pfund in jede Zahlung, die erste
Zahlung zu beginnen und auf den Tag zu beginnen, dass mein Sohn Matthias ist zu erreichen
die volle Alter von 21 Jahren, und so weiter, in jährlichen Zahlungen bis die ganze sagte
Summe von 368 Pfund und 4 Schilling voll Witz bezahlt werden, zu jedem meiner Kinder:

Und mein Wille ist ferner, dass, wenn eine meiner sagte zwei Söhne, Jakob und Matthias,
sollte starben, bevor sie das Alter von 21 Jahren erreichen, gebe ich und erarbeiten die
Teil oder Anteil an der man so sterben die Überlebenden von ihnen, vorbehaltlich der
Zahlung der genannten Summe von 368 Pfund und 4 Schilling in Form og
für deren Bezahlung.
Und mein Wille weiter, und ich weiß geben und es zu vererben, zu meiner lieben Frau Anna, einer
gutes Reiten Stute, Zaumzeug und Sattel, sagte die Stute gehalten zu und gewartet werden
mein erstes erwähnt Plantage und ich Ordnung und diredt, dass so lange, wie sie
soll mein Witwe weiter, sagte meine Söhne, Jakob und Matthias, oder ihre Hinterbliebenen
sie werden bei ihrer gemeinsamen und gleichberechtigten expence, finden und bieten jährlich zu
ihre Unterstützung und Wartung, zwölf Scheffel Weizen, fünf Scheffel Roggen, ein
fettes Schwein von 100 Gewichts und 6 Pfund Wolle und gestattet ihr die Nutzung und
Nutzen aus zwei Reihen von Apfelbäumen in einem solchen Teil des Obstgartens, wie so denken
ordnungsgemäße und so pflügen und säen für ihre jährliche halben Morgen Leinsamen, so
ihr erlauben, jährlich, jeweils im Frühjahr, um den Einsatz und die Wahl einer Milchkuh gehalten werden
auf der Plantage.
Und mein Wille ist ferner, dass meine Frau sagte, wird leben auf und haben die Verwendung von meinem
Plantage, worauf ich jetzt lebe für die Unterstützung von sich selbst und mein jüngerer oder
unverheiratete Kinder bis mein Sohn Jakob wird zu einem Alter von 21 Jahren erreichen.
Vorausgesetzt jedoch, dass, wenn mein nachfolgend genannten Testamentsvollstrecker wird Richter
dass sie nicht bequem verwalten die diese Stelle selbst, dass sie dann shal
und können Leasing die gleichen, bis mein Sohn Jakob kommt vom Alter. Um eine solche Person oder
Personen und für Überlegungen, wie sie denken, fit werden.
Item: Ich gebe und vermache meine Frau sagte das volle einem Drittel Teil meiner
persönlichen Nachlass nach Zahlung der Schulden und die anderen 2 / 3 Teile davon gebe ich
und es zu vererben gleichermaßen, und zwischen all meinen Kindern, zu teilen und share alike, ein
mein Wille weiter, dass meine sagte Söhne Jacob und Matthias, oder ihre Hinterbliebenen
sie wird, wenn sie oder einer von ihnen im Alter ankommen, bauen eine bequeme Gehäuse
für sie in an solchen Teil meiner Plantage leben als so soll sie s vorausgesetzt wählen
lange weiter meine Witwe.
Und schließlich ich nominieren mein Freund, Henry Hoover, und meine beiden Söhne John Hoover und
Martin Hoover, Vollstrecker dieser mein letzter Wille und Testament, hiermit den Entzug der
was für null und nichtig alle ehemaligen und andere werden oder will von mir, aller Geräte dennoch Zeit
bisher gemacht, erklärt diese und keine andere zu meinem letzten Willen und Testament werden.
Zu Urkund dessen habe ich dieses Abkommen gesetzt meine Hand und Siegel diesem 29. Tag des Juli,
