[fosselmann.ftw] He moved, with his family, to Akron, Ohio, USA where he attendedCentral High School. Eugene received his degree at the University ofAkron and won a scholarship to study art in New York and Paris. He was in Paris when the Nazi's began their occupation and he had toleave. He joined the army and served in World War II as a captain ofengineers. His unit's job was to go in after territory was liberatedfrom the Nazi's and build advance airbases. His unit was the first tomarch into Munich when that city was liberated. He was an interior designer for Lord and Taylor in New York City andfor Montgomery Wards before, opening his own store in west Akron,Ohio, USA. He was active all his life in Kiwanis International,becoming the President of West Akron Kiwanis in 1970. Late in life, hecontracted Alzheimer's disease which he had until his death. Eugenedied in Akron, Ohio, USA on March 14, 1996 and is buried in Rose HillCemetery.
