Lena was one of four girls of the Frank Fredrick Krull family, being born in eastern Nebraska in Lancaster County.She spent her early yearson the farm of her parents, attending local schools and graduating from the eight grade, at the age of 22 years old she married Walter F. Orth.They spent their early years of marriage in the Hallam-Sprague, Ne.area, at one point they ventured down to the Butler, Mo. area where they lived on the large farm which was owned by Lena's father.In 1938 or 1939, they moved to Porterville, Ca.Lena raised her family there, had a beautiful large white house on Grevilla Street (currently known asN. Plano, and owned by Fredrick Lee Orth, her son).She was very proudof her home and her family, she loved to cook and was very gracious to service men during World War II and the Korean War, many a young manwas a guest in the Orth home where they could rest,have their clotheswashed and given wonderful food.Few of those young men that were guest there ever realized how much time, food and money the Orths put outfor them. Lena loved to tell storys about her Mamma and Papa, her early life on the farm, the jokes she and her sisters use to pull on eachother and how nice of family she had, she really seem to enjoy her life.She was a hard working person.Walter died first in 1963, Lena in 1988, they are buried in the Porterville Memorial Cemetery, in east Porterville.
