Mable Clara was the oldest child of Fredrick and Maglena Pauline Rahorst Krull, born September 19, 1899, in Lancaster County, Nebraska. She attended school in Sprague, Ne. She and her brother Raymond were very close as children as they were the eldest of the children.Often their father loaned them out to work for neighbors during the summer, only toreturn home and have their earnings taken from them for family use.The family was fairly large with six children and they lived on rented farms or in Sprague where at one time Fredrick Krull was the sheriff. In 1918 Clarence Gotchall started courting Mable and on December 14, 1919, they were married in Lincoln, Ne. They lived for a time after marriage in and around Sprague and Lincoln, Ne. In approximately early 1927, the family moved to Caldwell, Idaho, on November 15, 1927, Lee Eldon was born, he lived until April 27, 1928.Later the family moved to Portland, Or. where Mable and Vic would work in the ship yards during World War II.Sometime during this period Mable and Vic divorced.Mable went to work for the dietary department at Veteran's Hospital and workedthere until 1965, when she retired. She retired to her home at 303 NE69th St., Portland, Or. where she attended her flower gardens which she dearly loved. She spent her later years traveling and watching overher grandchildren. In 1956, she made a two week trip to Nebraska, Scottsbluff and Lincoln, it was her first time there since leaving in 1926.For many years she had a heart condition which limited her travel, butin her later years she was able to get around more. She died in 1986,at the age of 87 ; preceding her in death were her parents and her younger brother Raymond Frank Krull.
