In researching my family tree, I have come to an impasse with my Great Grandparents, who had come to America in 1900 from Odessa, Ukraine. I have a copy of a receipt for passage from the Red Star Line, leaving from Antwerp to New York and dated, 2 April 1900. The passengers were, Jacob Feigert, age 29, occupation Farmer, Mrs. Katharina (Eberhardt) Feigert, age 26, and daughter Katharina, age 6 months. They lived in Neudorf, one of the Gluckstal colonies, and were destined for Eureka, McPherson County, So. Dakota. I could not find a marriage date for Jacob Feigert and Katharina Eberhardt. But, I did find out that Jacob Feigert's name was Feikert and his birthdate was 10 Feb. 1871. His parents were Jacob Feikert and Katharina Hertle. Jacob Feikert's parents were Nichael Feikert and Anna Maria Metzger. Katharina Hertle's parents were George Hertle and Barbara Heyd. I didn't find any information of George Hertle's or Barbara Heyd's families or Michael Feikert's parents. I do know that Anna Maria's parents were Christian Metzger and Anna Maria Burr. I found this infsormation in Ehrman's collection from St. Petersburg's Archives of Births, Marriages and Deaths in Gluckstal from 1833-1900. Jacob Feigert and Katharina Eberhardt ended up settling in Goodrich, McLean County, No. Dakota, and filed for Naturalization on 8 June 1908, with daughters Katharina, Pauline, Olga and Mathilda. I am interested in finding out Jacob Feigert and Katharina Eberhardt's marriage date, and information about Katharina Eberhardt, born 8 April, 1873, and her family. Also, I would like th know family names and dates prior ot 1833 of Michael Feigert, Anna Maria Metzger, George Hertle and Barbara Heyd. If there is any information you might know or direct me to resources where I can find this information, I would greatly appreciate it.
