There is no record of the birth of SARAH VIRGINIA. But there is one for #854 MARY V. SIMMONS to HENDREN & MALVINA on Nov 2, 1884. WALTER EYE shows MARY V dying in 1947, but ROBERT SAMUEL SIMMONS' wife SARAH never knew of her. C00WV gives total children as 4 with 3 living, SARAH V as one. Mother MELVINA's will leaves 1/3 of property to SARAH V. The 1910 census gives her birth date as Jul 1884 which is the date celebrated by her family. MELVINA certainly did not give birth to another child 4 months after SARAH was born. The family either had second thoughts about her name and probably did not report the birth until late or mistakes were made in the record by the clerk.
