Highland News Leader, Monday 5 June 2006: Shirley M. Koch, 74, ofHighland died Tuesday, May 30, 2006, at St. Joseph's Hospital inHighland. The funeral service was Friday at St. Paul Catholic Church with FatherDavid L. Peters presiding. Burial was in St. Joseph's Cemetery.Spengel-Boulanger Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements. Mrs. Koch was born March 28, 1932, in Trenton to George F. and AgnesL. (Feltrop) Zurliene. On May 30, 1956, at St. Mary Catholic Church inTrenton she married Gerald W Koch and he survives. Mrs. Koch grew up in Trenton and was a 1950 graduate of Aviston HighSchool. She worked at a shoe factory in Trenton and following hermarriage was the bookkeeper for the Highland Pontiac dealership,operated by her husband. They retired in January 1989. She enjoyedtraveling. She was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church. She also is survived by a son, Thomas J. Koch of Highland; twobrothers, Donald H. (Phyllis) Zurliene of Sun City, Ariz., and GeorgeF. (Gay) Zurliene of Breese; and a sister, Gennel Carter ofOrtonville, Mich. She was preceded in death her parents and a son, Gerald Koch, who diedas an infant. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Thursday, June 1, and from8 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. on Friday, June 2, at Spengel- Boulanger FuneralHome in Highland. Funeral services will begin at 10 a.m. on Friday, June 2, at St. PaulCatholic Church in Highland with Rev. Fr. David Peters, pastor,officiating. Interment will be at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Highland.
