1 NAME David /Brauns/ Highland News Leader, Monday 4 July 2005: David B. Brauns, 63, ofHighland died Thursday, June 30, 2005, at his home. Visitation is from 8 to 10 a.m. today at Spengel-Boulanger FuneralHome. The funeral Mass is at 10:30 a.m. at St. Paul Catholic Church inHighland with Father David L. Peters presiding. Burial will be in St.Lawrence Catholic Cemetery in Greenville. Mr. Brauns was born Jan. 16, 1942, in Highland to Sidney H. andMarianne R. (Rinderer) Brauns. On Nov. 30, 1963, he married Judith A.Pacatte and she survives. He grew up in Greenville and graduated from Greenville High School in1960. He received a bachelor's degree in business from SouthernIllinois University at Edwardsville in 1967. He had ,worked as amagnetic design engineer at Basler Electric, where he began working in1963. He retired in December 2004. During his employment at Basler hehad worked as plant manager at Charleston, Mo. for three years. Heloved' to ride his Heritage Softail Classic Harley Davidson, play golfand coach Little League baseball. He loved his family and children,who will miss him greatly. He was a member of St. Paul Church, Knightsof Columbus 1580, Harley Owner's Group and a former member of St.Lawrence Catholic Church. He also is survived by three sons, Steven D. (Christy) Brauns andJeffrey S. (Susan) Brauns of Highland, and Gary E (Gayla) Brauns ofGreenville; two daughters, Rhonda M. (Clint) Crossen of Lawrenceville,Ill... and Renee A. Brauns of Webster Groves, Mo.; two sisters, JudyA. Geries and Suzanne (William) Walker of Greenville; 10grandchildren, Zachary D. Crossen, Cheyanne J. Brauns, Gage A. Brauns,Carsten J. Brauns; Zane D. Crossen, Ben S. Brauns, Jocelyn C. Brauns,Gaite K. Brauns, Jacob J. Brauns and Garis J. Brauns; three stepgrandchildren, Patrick Norman, Stephanie N. Norman and Jason P Brown;and two step-greatgrandchildren, Naudia Norman and Aidan Norman. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother=in-law, AllenGeries. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Southern Illinois or to a charityof the donor's choice.
