Their first son died at age 3 - unknown name or cause of death Daniel was born in 17--? and died in Tyrone Township, Cumberland(Perry) Co. in 1817. He married Sarah Markel of (Cumberland) Perry Co.They were merchants at Ickesburg, Pennsylvania. Issue one son Danielborn 1817 after the death of his father. He married Agnes Miller ofPerry Co. Daniel bought the old Loatman plantation from the heirs ofEberhart Lotman and was the last of the Lotmans to live there. Afterselling the farm, Daniel was a Merchant in Loysville. Later he was amerchant in Markelsville for a few years. He sold out around 1865 or1866. In 1866 Daniel's family, his Uncles John, and Samuel andfamilies (and other kinfolk) migrated by way of wagon train toVersailles, Missouri. On the way to Missouri Daniel's wife, Agnes,wore a money belt containing $4,000.00 (which was a great deal ofmoney in those days). Daniel bought five sections of land inVersailles, Missouri and built a home on it. His son Daniel, and his wife, Agnes, had five children, all born inPerry County (3 sons and 2 daughters). His oldest son, GeorgeWashington Lutman, born in 1841, was a medical doctor and operated acountry store and a post office (a little northwest of of Versailles).The community was named Lutman Post Office. He died there of a heartattack in 1882. George had a son Harry Lutman, also a doctor, by his first wife. Adaughter Clara Lutman Wilkinson by his second wife, born 1887, residedin California, from where I have obtained this information on thispart of the family. Clara said her grandfather was a very small manand a very shrewd businessman. (Pat Ashton)
