1. Obituary The Onaga Herald January 8, 1959 Obituary-John Sander Teter John Sanders Teter, the son of Oliver Newton and Emily Paget Teter,was born May 22, 1880, in Knobnoster, Missouri. As a young boy hemoved with his parents and sisters to the vicinity of Deepwater, Mo.,where his father mined coal. As he grew up he attended the localschools and later mined c oal and farmed. He joined the DeepwaterBaptist Church when he was 18 years old. On May 30, 1905 he was united in marriage with Alice Isabelle Demaree,t he eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. H. T. Demaree of Clinton, Mo.Seven children were born to this union, six girls and one boy, all ofwhom sur vive and were present at the funeral. They are: Nellie MayKirk of Montrose, Mo.; Josie Ireta Loney of Wichita; Arminta AliceRogers of Wichita; Mary Belle Shepherd, Havensville; John SandersTeter, Jr., Buckner, M o.; and twin daughters, Henrietta Smith,Havensville, and Ruth Jean Rou dybush of Onaga. Also surviving are 28grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, two sisters, Mrs. Nellie Cookof Walnut, Kansas, and Mrs. Maggie Hughes of Twin Falls, Idaho. Onesister, Mrs. Amelia Huffman, and one grandchild preceded him in death. Mr. Teter and his family moved to Havensville in 1931 where he residedthe rest of his life. He passed away early in the morning of ChristmasDay at his home in Havensville from a heart attack, caused by havingsuffered with rheumatism for several years, at the age of 78 years, 7months and 3 days. He was a loving husband, a kind father and wasrespected b y his neighbors and friends. Out of town relatives here for the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. WalterKirk, Mr. and Mrs. James Kirk and son of Deepwater, Mo.; Mr. and Mrs.Virg il Kirk and family of Garden City, Mo.; Mr. and Mrs. Earl Kirk ofKansa s City, Mo.; Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Kirk and daughter of KansasCity, Mo.; M r. and Mrs. Raymond and sons and Mr. and Mrs. Homer Loneyof Wichita; John S. Teter, Jr. of Buckner, Mo.; Mrs. Gus Honnand, Mrs.Meva Devine of Clinton, Mo.; Mr. and Mrs. Joe Purnell and son ofMontrose, Mo.; and Mr. and Everett Roudybush of Onaga.
