1. Obituary Enid Morning News Louisa Teter was born October 24, 1849, at Circleville, PendletonCounty, West Virginia. She died Saturday, December 30, 1916, at 3p.m. at her home four miles northeast of Marshall, Oklahoma being 67years, 2 months and 6 days old. In January 1874, she was joined inmarriage to Elijah Bennett. To this union were born seven children,two sons and five daughters, all of whom were at the bedside. In May1885 she and her husband five older children removed to Sumner county,Kansas, the birthplace of the two younger daughters. Soon after theopening of Oklahoma they took up their present home four milesnortheast of Marshall. She early acknowledged her faith in Christ byjoining the Methodist Episcopal church at 16 years of age. Later shejoined the local Christian church before the Methodist church wasorganized. Her Bible was her best companion and she was known by hermany deeds of kindness which stamped her as a Christian. Besides hermany friends and more distant relatives she leaves to mourn, herhusband, three sisters, two brothers and children as follows: Mrs.Lulu Olmstead, Mrs.Rachel Jordan, Mrs. Maggie Horsley, Miss JennieBennett, Miss Nora Bennett, Mr. Buzz Bennett, all of Marshall and Mr.Paul Bennett of Stillwater. Funeral services are held at theMethodist church at two o'clock New Year's Day and were conducted byRev. Hobbs. The house was packed to it's capacity.
