Red Wing Daily Republican Tuesday April 30, 1935 Page 2, column 3 Fred Klair Dies Following Long Siege of Illness Fred Henry Klair, who successfully engaged in farming in BelvidereTownship for many years. died this morning at about 7 o'clock at hishome, 1339 Central Park Street. He suffered a stroke of paralysisabout four years ago, but his condition had only been serious for thepast few days. Born in Hay Creek on Sept. 12, 1866; he took up farming in Belviderewhen a young man. Five years ago he removed to Red Wing, which hadsince been his home. He was united in marriage to Miss Mary Brenner onMarch 25, 1891. Mr. Klair was an industrious man, who was respected by a host offriends.\ Surviving are his widow, four children, Mrs. John Fitchen, Hay Creek,Mrs. Henry Zemke, Goodhue, Orrin Klair, Goodhue, and Raymond Klair,Belvidere; ten grandchildren, one brother, Louis Klair, Beaudette, andtwo sisters, Mrs. A.J. Hardy, Dubuque, Ia. and Mrs. Oscar Hawkinson,Hay Creek. The funeral will be held Friday afternoon at 1:30 o'clock from thehome and at 2 o'clock at St. John's Lutheran Church, Rev. J.R. Baumannofficiating. Burial will be at St. John's Cemetery, Goodhue. Friendsmay call at the Edstrom Chapel Thursday from 3 to 9 p.m. and at thehome Friday from 10 a.m. to the time of the service.
