NORTH LIBERTY, Iowa - James "Jim" Patrick Seaba, 72, North Liberty,died Wednesday, July 14, 2010, at Windmill Manor, Coralville. The Rev. Jeffrey Pautz of Our Savior Lutheran Church, Muscatine, willofficiate. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Mercy Medical CenterFoundation or Iowa City Hospice. Mr. Seaba was born Aug. 13, 1937, in Sigourney, the son of John andEva (Michel) Seaba. He graduated from Sigourney High School in 1955. He attended theUniversity of Iowa School of Radiology graduating in 1960. He marriedMary Jo Colvin April 26, 1959, in Elkader. He worked at the Universityof Iowa Hospitals and Clinics from 1960-69 in the department ofradiology and later for Mercy Medical Center until 2000. Jim enjoyed his Canadian fishing trips every summer with his sons andbest friends, pheasant hunting, gardening, playing cards, travelingand researching family history. His true enjoyment came from spendingtime with his family and watching his grandchildren grow. Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Mary Jo; children, John Seabaof Iowa City, James Seaba and wife, Nancy of Bartlesville, Okla.,Bruce Seaba and wife, Lisa of Muscatine, and Kathryn Beck of NorthLiberty; grandchildren, Christina, J.J., Katelyn, Sarah, Mary Alice,Ben and Grace Seaba and Ryan Beck; a brother, Peter Seaba and wife,Hazel and their son, Louis Seaba of Iowa City .
