He was probably born about 1729 in the village Buchholz in the Wilstedt parish near Osterholz-Scharmbeck in Lower Saxony in Germany. His parents were Borcherdt and Ahlke Bellmann. (C1, C2, C6)

Work:
About 1755 he took over a newly subdivided plot of marshland in an area called Neu St. Jürgen. It is part of the nearby Worpswede parish. He was a farmer (German: Halbbauer). (C2)

Marriage:
He married the single Hibbel Tietjen from the village Teufelsmoor (the Oberendermoor part) in the nearby Scharmbeck parish on the 31st of September 1754 in the St. Willehadi church in Osterholz-Scharmbeck. (C1)

Death:
He died in the afternoon of the 20th of April 1766 in the Worpswede parish. He was a 37 years old widower. He was buried in the cemetery in Worpswede two days later. (C2)
